В обзоре рассмотрены современные направления деятельности библиотек с учетом воздействия внешней технологической и социальной среды, изменений в области научных коммуникаций, образования, модернизации систем управления данными и др. Внимание уделено в большей сте­пени выявлению тенденций развития научных (академических) и публичных библиотек. Материал структурирован по блокам и представлен в двух частях (первая часть обзора опубликована в жур­нале «Библиосфера» 2018 № 4). В данный обзор вошли следующие разделы: 1) предпочтения пользователей и новые услуги библиотек (программы развития информационной грамотности, управление исследовательскими данными (Research data management), веб-архивирование и др.), 2) библиотеки как центры интеллектуального досуга, коммуникативные площадки, места для обу­чения, коворкинга, аренды оборудования, творчества, работы, научных экспериментов и отдыха, 3) «умные здания» и «умные библиотеки», 4) оптимизм будущего.  Для подготовки обзора был проведен информационный поиск по крупнейшим мировым базам данных (Google Scholar, Web of Science, Scopus и др.) и выявлены источники (более 500) по теме, в которых обсуждаются тенденции и будущее развитие библиотек. В последующем источники анализировались, отобранная литература классифицировалась по разделам и типам библиотек, а также по передовым технологиям. Были собраны и рассмотрены примеры информационных тех­нологий, а также исследования и статьи, связанные с внедрением информационных технологий при создании новых услуг, с акцентом на те, которые могут влиять на библиотеки в будущем; изучены новейшие информационные технологии, которые могут быть применимы к библиотеке следующего поколения. Анализ публикаций показал, что академические и публичные библиотеки стремятся к обслуживанию читателей с использованием современных информационных технологий, создают пространственные среды для творчества и интеллектуального досуга, обеспечивают комфортные условия обслуживания, повышают умения и навыки библиотекарей в соответствии с меняющи­мися предпочтениями пользователей. Это создает предпосылки для оптимистичного видения будущего библиотек не только как хранилищ информации, но и центров интеллектуального досуга, коммуникативных площадок, мест для обучения, коворкинга, творчества и вдохновения.  

The review examines modern library activity taking into account the influence of external technological and social environment, changes in scientific communications, education, modernization of data man­agement systems, etc. The author identifies trends in developing scientific (academic) and public libraries to a greater degree. The material is structured in blocks and presented in two parts (the first one was published in «Bibliosphere», 2018, № 4). This review includes the following sections: 1) user preferences and new library services (information literacy development programs, research data management, web archiving, etc.), 2) libraries as centers of intellectual leisure, communication platforms, places for training, co-working, renting equipment, creativity, work, scientific experiments and recreation, 3) «smart buildings» and «smart libraries», 4) optimism of the future. To prepare the review, an information search was carried on the world's largest databases (Google Scholar, Web of Science, Scopus, etc.), which identified over 500 sources on the topic discussing trends and future development of libraries. All materials were classified according to sections, library types, advanced tech­nologies. The author collects and considers cases of information technology, research and articles related to their introduction for new services creation emphasized those that may affect the library in the future; studies the latest information technologies should be applied to the next generation library. Publications analysis show that academic and public libraries strive to serve readers using modern information tech­nologies, create spatial environments for creativity and intellectual leisure, provide comfortable conditions of servicing, enhance skills of librarians in accordance with changing user preferences. It creates prereq­uisites for an optimistic vision of the library future not only as repositories of information, but as centers of intellectual leisure, communication platforms, places for learning, co-working, creativity and inspiration.
