Abstract
The author investigates the translation from Dutch to Russian one of the «documents» on the conquest of Siberia by Ermak, published by N. Vitsen in his book «Noord en Oost Tartarye» (Amsterdam, 1705) and known today as the «The description of Siberia by Nikiphorus Venyukov». Considered are textual differences of the Dutch original and Russian translation made by I. I. Tyzhnovym. The role of I. I. Tyzhnov’s work for literary history «Siberia Description» is determined.

On the basis of the database Scopus bibliometric research of documentary-information flow on nanotechnology in SB RAS is carried out. The author has structured types and kinds of publications, their dynamics during 2000–2010, and the list of the authors with the largest number of publications. The circle of journals with the largest number of documents on subjects considered is submitted, as well as the leading collaborating organizations and countries.

Abstract
Application of bibliometric analysis to periodicals acquisition is presented on the base of the State scientific center of virusology and biotechnology «Vector» and the Institute of petroleum geology and geophysic SB RAS. The authors showed efficient methods of semiautomatic data gathering on scientists’ publishing activity and their references. The proposed method of citation analysis enables librarian to define the core of periodicals collection quickly and efficiently. Applying this method it is possible objectively to refine list of subscribed periodicals.
