Abstract

The article examines the manuscripts of the XVIII–XIX centuries, which are the part of the book collection of Kolyvan-Voskresensk mining plants. The most extensive and valuable part of this collection is located in the department of valuable and rare books of the Novosibirsk State Regional Scientific Library (NSRSL). Most of the manuscripts, mentioned in the article, were not previously available for researchers.

For the first time, the author has attempted to reconstruct the composition of the manuscripts that were part of the book collection of the KolyvanVoskresensk mining plants. Today, we have more or less complete information about 88 manuscripts that, at various times, were acquired by the Barnaul State Library. The aim of this article is to examine the manuscripts in the book collection of the Kolyvan-Voskresensk mining district in Altai, and to characterize them. The author analyzes the preserved archival documents related to the Barnaul State Library and its books. Special attention is paid to the thematic composition of the manuscripts preserved, which is very diverse and has a clear similarity to Ural book collections that were historically associated with mining and metallurgy. The article reveals the history of the origin and existence of manuscripts from the Kolyvan-Voskresensk mining plants. The study significantly contributes to our understanding of the development of book distribution, librarianship, and reading in Siberia during the 18th and 19th centuries.
